In the Van Meter Lab, we focus on the cross-cutting interactions of water and ecosystems. These interactions may take place within water bodies or on land--in rivers and lakes and across a range of landscapes, from pristine forests, to intensively cropped areas, to suburban neighborhoods. We are interested in how humans impact water quality and water availability, and we explore questions about the impacts of changing land use and climate on water security, from local to global scales.
